The Indian Journal of Marketing operates a hybrid access model. By default, accepted manuscripts are published under subscription access at no cost to the author. Authors may instead elect Open Access after a manuscript is accepted, subject to a limited number of Open Access slots per issue and an applicable publication charge (payable only for Open Access, and only after acceptance). The journal does not charge any submission fee, and no payment is required at any stage prior to acceptance.
In addition to this hybrid model for current content, Associated Management Consultants Private Limited (AMCPL) provides open access to the archival content of its journals as set out in Section 4 below.
Accepted manuscripts are published under subscription access at no charge to the author by default. Open Access is available at the author's election, subject to limited slots per issue, allocated among eligible accepted manuscripts; Open Access publication carries a publication charge, payable only after acceptance.
| Author Category | Access Route | Publication Charge | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Indian Authors | Subscription Access | No charge | Published in print & online |
| Indian Authors | Open Access (author-elected) | ₹45,000 | After acceptance · CC BY-NC 4.0 |
| International Authors | Subscription Access | No charge | Published in print & online |
| International Authors | Open Access (author-elected) | USD 600 | After acceptance · CC BY-NC 4.0 |
A publication charge (for Open Access) is levied only after successful completion of peer review and formal acceptance of the manuscript; it is never linked to, or a condition of, the acceptance decision itself. Indian and international rates are independently set for their respective author categories and are not subject to mutual currency conversion. All published authors receive two complimentary print copies of the issue in which their paper appears; international authors who prefer not to receive print copies may request a waiver of print dispatch, which does not affect the publication charge or any other publication terms.
The Indian Journal of Marketing's Open Access publication charge is set with reference to comparable internationally indexed hybrid journals, with the aim of keeping Open Access accessible to researchers across institutions of varying sizes and resource levels.
The Open Access publication charge is non-refundable once an article has been published. If an author withdraws a manuscript, or elects to move to subscription access, after payment but before publication, no refund will be issued. Authors are encouraged to confirm their choice of access route before making payment.
Note on Publication Fees
The Indian Journal of Marketing is not a paid journal. Acceptance is determined solely on academic merit through a rigorous double-blind peer review process. Subscription access papers, which form the primary body of each issue, are published at no charge to the author. A publication charge applies only where an author specifically elects Open Access publication, and only after the manuscript has been accepted following the full peer review process.
Articles published since August 2025 onwards remain accessible through institutional/individual subscription or pay-per-view. This model supports the operational and editorial costs necessary to maintain the journal's standards.
In pursuit of advancing knowledge and facilitating academic discourse, AMCPL provides open access to the archival content of the following years:
Archival content refers to all articles published in the journals listed above that are available digitally on the respective journal websites. This content is freely accessible to readers worldwide, without subscription or payment, for download.
AMCPL is committed to exploring sustainable models to expand its open access offerings. The current hybrid approach balances accessibility with financial viability. Policies are reviewed periodically to adapt to the evolving open access landscape, and any changes will be communicated to stakeholders.
The publisher absorbs the costs associated with making archival content freely available, in support of the dissemination of knowledge.
This policy is maintained with reference to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (4th edition), jointly issued by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME, which set expectations for how publication charges and access terms should be disclosed. For licensing, copyright, and self-archiving terms, see the journal's Licensing, Copyright, and Author Self-Archiving Policy.
AMCPL is committed to transparency in its policies and operations. For further information or inquiries regarding this Open Access and Publication Charges Policy, please contact Priyanka Gilani, Editorial Director, Associated Management Consultants Private Limited, at [email protected]
